Description:

The post holder will spend time in the Technical Services, Digital Transformation and Service Management and Support sections of the Digital Services Department, during their tenure with the Trust.

We are looking for someone who is confident, outgoing, communicative, friendly and willing to get stuck in and is keen to learn. They should already have at least, basic computer skills and be comfortable around use and dialogue regarding technology.

What kind of projects will I gain experience of?
Analytics projects range from completing isolated local ad-hoc reporting requirements to the development and delivery of an entire suite of analytical tools and reports to national hospitals. Ultimately every piece of work is directed towards helping to improve the quality and efficiency of care delivered for patients. Ensuring that vital intelligence is provided in an accurate and timely manner to key decision makers and clinicians is a vital function within Healthcare.

What contribution will I make?
On joining the department you will be supported to develop your competency across key technologies with a view to you swiftly being able to contribute to active projects. As mentioned above, enabling improvements in healthcare to benefit patients is at the heart of all we do. By virtue of your contribution to real world projects within the organisation your will directly assist in this endeavour.

What can I expect to have achieved by the end of my placement?
By the end of your placement you will have achieved a sufficient level across key technical competencies as necessary in order to make a valid contribution to the programme of work. You will also have developed a working knowledge of varied healthcare data sets and be familiar with the NHS Data Dictionary and the calculation of key healthcare indicators. By the end of your placement you should feel confident in your abilities and a valued member of the organisation.

There may also be opportunities to gain experience and work in other teams within Health Informatics and roles within the digital space, depending on the projects underway within the programme of work at the time of the placement.

Trainee Project and implementation Support Officer
ICT Digital Projects
Description:

The post holder will be based in Digital Programmes Team in the ICT Department. This team is made up of Programme Managers, Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers who work along side the Digital Change Analysts and other ICT technical staff to implement successful change projects across the Trust. This role will support the Programme, Project, and Implementation Managers with:

  • The construction of work packages and liaising with colleagues to fully identify the required resources, dependencies, and risks.
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, Gantt charts and other project related documentation.
  • Providing accurate and current individual project status information to senior staff
  • Ensuring that all required documentation relating to project delivery is identified and in place.
  • Coordinating and documenting project meetings, managing all enquiries, project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Participating in the creation of and contribute to, new and existing departmental processes as required.
  • Ensure IT systems support the business processes of the organisation and wider health community.
  • Work closely with the ICT Change team, ensuring proposed new ways of working are supported and effectively implemented.
  • Developing business process change action plans for key areas of work, highlighting any resource requirements or change in staff roles and identifying the associated benefits and risks.
  • Support with managing other projects go lives
  • Evaluating and monitoring project progress • Data analysis and Benefits identification, monitoring and realisation

Requirements:

Wye Valley NHS Trust
Project and Business Change Support Officer
IM&T Department/Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme
Description:

The post holder will be based in the IM&T Department/EPR Programme Team and will be responsible for supporting a range of IM&T projects relating to the implementation and expansion of an Electronic Patient Record within Wye Valley NHS Trust.

Duties will include supporting project managers, business change analysts and Clinical Systems Management Teams to manage and deliver a range of IM&T clinical systems projects of varying scope and complexity. This may include, for example, recording and managing project risks and issues, assisting with project planning, assisting with resource planning, and assisting with the mapping of operational and clinical processes.

The post holder will spend the year in the IM&T/EPR Programme department under the supervision of the EPR Programme Manager and the EPR Project Team.

Some of the key skills and personal attributes required are IM&T skills and knowledge, the ability to work autonomously (while being supported as required), self-motivated, and the ability to solve problems. Knowledge or experience of project management, managing change and process mapping would be beneficial, however it is not essential.
